At Savy Dog Training, I want you to be dog savvy and your choice in local dog training. My goal is to create a harmonious bond between you and your dog. I believe that every dog deserves to thrive in a balanced, rewarding environment and for owners to feel confident in their handling skills. I achieve this through balanced training techniques that successfully teach and maintain behaviors in all dogs.
What is Balanced Training?
My method of dog training is based in basic learning theory which uses the four quadrants of operant conditioning. They are positive reinforcement, negative reinforcement, positive correction and negative correction. Positive and negative are merely a mathematical equation, positive meaning addition and negative meaning subtraction. With the proper application of reward and correction, you can teach and reinforce wanted behaviors while discouraging unwanted ones.
